430 406L 436 439 441 are belong to 400 series stainless steel, 400 series stainless steel which is an alloy of iron, carbon and chromium. The stainless steel has a martensitic structure and iron element, so it has the magnetic properties.400 series stainless steel normally has high resistance to oxidation at high temperature, and compared with carbon steel, physical and mechanical properties are improved. The majority of the 400 series stainless steel can be heat treated.

Among 400 series, the most widely used are grade 430, it has 18% chromium .430 stainless steel type is characterized by cheap, low thermal expansion coefficient, resistance to chloride stress corrosion better than 300 stainless steel varieties; however, the disadvantage is that the forming properties and tensile strength of welding is less than the 300 series stainless steel models, therefore, its use of the field is limited. 400 stainless steel varieties currently adding niobium, titanium, copper and aluminum elements can improve the deep drawing performance, weldability, corrosion and high temperature strength, can partially replace the 300 series stainless steel models. The United States and Japan these models are widely used in automotive exhaust pipe (409 and 410L). The washing machine drum (type 430), kitchenware, household appliances, medical equipment, water heater, roof plate, curtain wall and power plant equipment.
